CARA: A Congestion-Aware Routing Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

Congestion control is one of the key research topics in relation to routing algorithms wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this paper, we propose a congestion-aware algorithm (CARA) for unlimited-lifetime by integrating geographic distance and traffic load nodes. The takes alleviating congestion as primary purpose considers node itself local network traffic. According between nodes, CARA defines four decision parameters (node factor, forward rate, cache remaining average rate), selecting best next-hop through multi-attribute decision-making method. Compared with two existing control, our simulation results suggest that alleviates meets reasonable delay energy consumption requirements.
